MOUCECORE wants to see spiritual, socio-economical and environmental transformation for the building of the kingdom of God.
A BRIEF HISTORY
Created in June 1993 and legally registered as a non-profit association in January 1994, MOUCECORE (Christian Movement for Evangelisation, Counselling and Reconciliation) is a Rwandan Christian organization which aids churches in community development. The idea of starting this evangelical organization developed in the mind of Bishop Alexis Bilindabagabo (Anglican bishop of Gahini diocese). Bilindabagabo contacted other committed Christians who shared his idea, and together they formed the organization.
In every community it enters, MOUCECORE promotes holistic evangelism, healing and reconciliation, sustainable peace, community development, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, and children’s holistic development. MOUCECORE is an interdenominational organization guided by Christian principles and is open to all of God’s people. From 1994 TO 2012, MOUCECORE was led and inspired by Michel Kayitaba, who was then the Executive Director.
- To bring mankind to the knowledge of Christ and grow in Him
- To rebuild the broken relationships and enhance reconciliation in Rwandese society
- To mobilize the church to fulfill its Integral Mission through spiritual transformation, community development, advocacy, and HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
Moucecore strategy is based on mobilizing, organizing and empowering the population; this is to bring about solutions to identified problems within the same community. Through participatory evaluation process, community members identify their needs and priorities them. MOUCECORE develops projects to address those problems; all projects come as complementary interventions to the community members’ initiatives.
